Let me start by saying I love this author and have read every one of her books. She is a talented author and I always anticipate her new releases. However, this series falls flat compared to the others. Both of the books in this series are rather slow and boring. They are more about emotions and feelings than they are fast paced, thrilling, or mysterious. I was sick to death hearing about Emmy's emotions and all her hang ups because of them. The book sort of makes her seem like a hysterical wreck who can't do her job without help from Gerald or Jude. So why is she in charge then? And for her not to find out that Jude is her mother in this book either is ridiculous. I also knew who the killer was early on and find it hard to believe that such experienced and talented investigators missed all the clues. If this series continues, I hope they end up being more thrilling and fast paced.

75% of the book is 2 women driving from a house to the library, back to the house then library, then different house.. tedious at best. the who dunnit is easily figured out right from the get go. the ending leaves more questions than it answers.
